Storytelling is an activity as old as humankind, and lies at the heart of every society’s history and culture. In today’s world, however, the power of story has been drawn into the control of organised national or international media, beyond the reach of ordinary people . This Fun Palace will revive enthusiasm for storytelling and give access to many techniques useful for it, and will gather a permanent archive of local life experiences in a fast-changing district of east London.

Groups of residents hosted Fun Palace on Aberfeldy supported by Aberfeldy Big Local. Theme was EVERYONE AN ARTIST AND EVERYONE A SCIENTIST. People came together to share stories, food and culture.

A joint estate Festival between Aberfeldy Teviot and Brownfield Estates. An in initiatives to encourage more people to come together.

Weather held up really well, sun shining all day. 400 + people attending the Festival from neighbouring estates. There were plenty of activities for everyone from sports, bouncy castles, health workshops and information tents. Local residents also held stalls selling various items such as cake.

Our annual summer BBQ was a huge success. More than 50 people came out and joined in the Big Local conversation about the local area.
